The 19th Annual Eric DeFreitas Scratch Classic presented by Storm capped off an incredible weekend of competitive bowling in the south. The weekend showcased the talent of over 200 bowlers that represented every state in the southern region. Our goal for this weekend was to give the bowling community a series of events that were fun and competitive. We also wanted those that participated to get an opportunity to fellowship and network, because this is what will strengthen the foundation of the bowling family on so many levels.

The weekend started with the McCorvey's Pro Shop Ladies and Seniors Scratch Eliminator. This event drew 76 bowlers, Joe German and Becky Sulligan won their perspective events. Then immediately after that event, the RBT host our 1st Annual Bowler's Appreciation Networking Expo which is a event that brought in some of the top brands in bowling, giving the bowling public a chance to meet, greet, and sample the products of these great companies. The participants had a great time and the networking forged new connections for vendors and the consumer.
Then later that evening we hosted the Stability Strikes 4 Game Sweeper which drew 68 bowlers. Daniel Spink won that event. We also gave away Storm bowling balls and others prizes at every event, which was our way of showing gratitude for the support we receive from the bowling community.

The final event of the weekend was the Eric DeFreitas Scratch Classic which drew an impressive 145 bowlers. This was a one day tournament that paid $4000 for first and 31 individuals cashed. Aj Rice won that event.

RealBowlers thank each and everyone that had a hand in make this a successful weekend. We especially thanks every participant that came out and showed support...we do this for YOU!! Be on the look out for more to come from RealBowlers. Bowling is Alive!!!

I. How many games do I have on this ball? 30 games

J. Favorite Surface on this bowling ball: out-of-box

K. Description of ball motion: smooth through the front and a predictable turn at friction

L. Overall Hook (1 none – 10 lots): 8

M. Versatility (1worst - 10best): 7

N. Overall Rate (1worst - 10best): 7.5

O. Why do I recommend buying this bowling ball? This ball has a nice motion through the lane from many different angles.

P. How does this ball compare to another ball? This ball is about a 4-3 left move from my

versa-max

Q. What are the strengths of this bowling ball? Smooth and predictable

R. What are the weaknesses of this bowling ball? Versatility and transition

S. Oil Patterns used on: House Shot

T. How does this ball react on house patterns? Smooth through the front with a controlled hook on the backend

U. How does this ball react during transition? If I lose my shot, I usually have to switch balls. I am having trouble with early roll during transition

V. When do I find myself using this ball? When I see over-under with my Nexxxus F(P+S), or when my versa-max will not make the turn.

W. Additional Comments: This is a great ball to fill the gap in my arsenal between the Nexxus F(P+R) and the versa-max. My best game with this ball is currently a 279. This is a nice upgrade for a person using the versa-max.
Nexxxus F(P+S)tag:realbowlers.ning.com,2012-08-22:2153999:Topic:935842012-08-22T12:04:50.261ZRichard VanScoykhttp://realbowlers.ning.com/profile/RichardVanScoyk

I. How many games do I have on this ball? About 40

J. Favorite Surface on this bowling ball: out of box

K. Description of ball motion: smooth and lengthy with skid and a nice flip action down lane

L. Overall Hook (1 none – 10 lots): 8.5

M. Versatility (1worst - 10best): 8

N. Overall Rate (1worst - 10best): 8.5

O. Why do I recommend buying this bowling ball? This ball seems to be, with 40 games on it, the best ball I have currently. I like the skid-flip action, which means to me that the ball saves all of its power for the pins and I receive lots of strikes.

Special Information

P. How does this ball compare to another ball? I feel that the ball is a 3-2 move left on a house shot compared to the Nexxus F(P+R).

Q. What are the strengths of this bowling ball? Skid-flip action, does not hook early

R. What are the weaknesses of this bowling ball? Too strong for drier lanes, I leave many corner pins during transition because of my entry angle.

S. Oil Patterns used on: House Shot

T. How does this ball react on house patterns? Long skid motion, then strong hook on backend

U. How does this ball react during transition? I lose carry during transition and I must make correct moves to knock down all ten pins.

V. When do I find myself using this ball? Always, this is my new favorite ball. Also, I use it on medium to heavy oiled house shots.

W. Additional Comments: This ball is great for me, and I believe it will be great for you as well. I have one 300 with this ball already. Nice job Brunswick, this ball is great.
Memorial Day Classic in Grand Rapids MItag:realbowlers.ning.com,2012-04-06:2153999:Topic:912632012-04-06T12:45:57.517ZSpectrum Laneshttp://realbowlers.ning.com/profile/SpectrumLanes

G. Weight of Bowling Ball: 15 lbs.

H. Layout of bowling Ball: Pin down and 45 degrees

I. How many games do I have on this ball? 25 games

J. Favorite Surface on this bowling ball: 2000 pad

K. Description of ball motion: banana

L. Overall Hook (1 none – 10 lots): 6.4

M. Versatility (1worst - 10best): 7.1

N. Overall Rate (1worst - 10best): 7.3

O. Why do I recommend buying this bowling ball? If you bowl on older wood lanes, this is the

bowling ball for you. This ball is very controllable and never over hooks. This ball is

great, if you can hit your mark every time.

Special Information

P. How does this ball compare to another ball? I would compare this ball to my C-Systems 4.5. It

is very smooth and always controllable. I am able to play straighter between the first

and second arrow with my Versa-Max.

Q. What are the strengths of this bowling ball? Controllable and smooth break-point

R. What are the weaknesses of this bowling ball? Little hook and less area to miss for a strike

S. Oil Patterns used on: House Shot

T. How does this ball react on house patterns? The ball is late to hook down lane. It has a

nice reaction, but a small response to friction. This ball is best used near the gutter.

U. How does this ball react during transition? This ball stays consistent with a controllable

reaction ,and I barely have to move when the lanes get super dry.

V. When do I find myself using this ball? I find myself using this ball in longer

tournaments, when lanes are too dry for other balls.

W. Additional Comments: I have 2-277’s with this ball. This ball is my go-to ball when my

Benchmark ball does not work.

G. Weight of Bowling Ball: 15 lbs

H. Layout of bowling Ball: Pin down and 45 degrees

I. How many games do I have on this ball? Approx. 100 games

J. Favorite Surface on this bowling ball: out-of-box

K. Description of ball motion: NIKE sign

L. Overall Hook (1 none – 10 lots): 9.4

M. Versatility (1 worst – 10 best): 6.8

N. Overall Rate (1 worst – 10 best): 8.7

O. Why do I recommend buying this bowling ball? If you are lacking in the hook category, the

Nexxus is a MUST buy. I bowl on synthetic lanes, and during carry-down I barely have

to move my feet or eyes. I believe this ball will automatically raise your average 5 or

more pins.

Special Information

P. How does this ball compare to another ball? This ball compares to my Alpha-Max. This ball

has a nice response to friction down lane. If I miss left with a shot, the ball slides just

enough to strike. Also, if I miss right, the ball does not hook too early, and the ball

recovers just enough to strike.

Q. What are the strengths of this bowling ball? Late Response to friction and Overall Hook

R. What are the weaknesses of this bowling ball? Versatility and breakdown

S. Oil Patterns used on: House Shot

T. How does this ball react on house patterns? This ball makes a strong move to the pocket

when the ball hits friction. If the lanes get too dry, this ball is notorious for leaving 10

pins. However, if you are able to make quick moves, you should never miss the pocket.

U. How does this ball react during transition? It reacts well, but if it gets too dry, the 10 pins are

tough to knock down.

V. When do I find myself using this ball? I use it on all fresh medium - heavy oiled house shots.

W. Additional Comments: I am seeing tremendous scores with this ball. I am on a current streak

of 4-700’s in a row. I have 5-279’s with this ball, but still looking for that 300. I

highly recommend this ball, because of the overall quality of late hook.
