I decided years ago to stick with one ball manafucturer and build an arsenal. I choose Visionary after tossing the Warlock DC. Working with Dan Bearden and Frankie May, I was able to learn the basics of core/cover relationship, as well as reading. I decided years ago to stick with one ball manafucturer and build an arsenal. I choose Visionary after tossing the Warlock DC. Working with Dan Bearden and Frankie May, I was able to learn the basics of core/cover relationship, as well as reading. A great book to find and read is Revolutions, it helps give the bowler an understanding of the complete dynamics of the bowling ball. Currently, I have an Orge (orange) for my heavy oil shot, Gladiator Solid for med/heavy shot, Purple Orge for med/light shot, Bronze AMB Centaur for my skid/snap shot, finally a dull and polished Urethane Orge for house/breakdown shots. Unfortunately due to Visionary being unable to find a producer of plastic balls, I have a T-Zone for spare shooting. Hope it doesn't sound like an advertisement for Visionary, just a decision I made and have stuck with for over 15yrs. I think most would agree, they prefer to stay with a particular manufacturer when it come to ball choice. Still no 800 series (PB 767), 4 300's (1st with Burgundy Hammer, 2nd Visionary Charcoal Executioner, 3rd Burgundy Gryphon, 4th Slate Blue Gargoyle). I think that most any ball on the market, drilled up correctly for a particular shot will do great, it is all about matching up ball vs. lane and the individual excuting the shot needed.
