What criteria does your association use to determine Bowler of the Year?

I am interested in changing how Columbus determines the Bowler of the Year (the all events winner of the city tournament is the B.O.Y! - ridiculous!). How does your city determine B.O.Y.?

So if some one has a good weekend, they get bowler of the year? This is my first year back bowling in the Atlanta area on a some what competitve level, not that I am that good... yet. So I don't know how they calculate. But wow. I would think it should be something like getting the secretarys together or presidents, and let them vote on a list of potentials with their year stats as far as 300's, 800's and avg.
Greater Atlanta has a formula that they used to determine bowler of the year. Its a little outdated due to explosion of honor scores, but its better then apparently what columbus has. I would venture to say most associations use this format. The idea that Martin wrote I think would be perfect for your association due to the fact your assoc. is small. That idea woulnd't work as much in Greater Atla due to the extensive size (23 centers spread across 100 miles.).

This is more along the lines that I was thinking. I bowled in the Denver area for several years and they had some type of formula as well. I believe you got points for honor scores, points for high average (city-wide), and points for tournament finishes. I'm not sure I would want to use Martin's idea for Columbus although it would be better than what we currently have!
I appreciate both you guys for your input.
Greenville, SC has the some what the same system. They go off of games bowled as well. They also factor in the associations city tournament and state tournament results.
Macon uses honor scores, league high averages, the city tournament, the states, the southeastern tournament, and also the nationals. I think it's a pretty good way to do it.
