12 Year-Old Qualifies for South Region Finals

Kamron Doyle of Brentwood, Tenn. qualified for the casher's round in the PBA South Region Canton, Ga Open.

Doyle is a 12 year-old bowling phenom who already holds the all-time record for the youngest bowler to roll a sanctioned 800 series (he rolled games of 279, 278, and 245 for an 802 three-game series at the age of 11 years, 2 months, and 1 day) and is also the third-youngest bowler to roll a 300 game in sanctioned competition.

Doyle currently sits in 29th position heading into Sunday's 5-game casher's round, and will need to finish in the top 16 to advance to single elimination match play.

The youngster can bowl. I saw him at Diane Benedicts tournament in Tennesee last year where he led the first squad and yesterday in Canton. He shot a couple of pins higher than Greg Black Jr who bowled well and cashed. He can hit his target, he has a good roll on his ball and he makes his spares. I hope he doesn't burn out by being pushed too hard, but he seems to have that child's enthusiasm and has fun. He would really be wasting his time bowling other children and most teenagers. He doesn't have any attitude problems that I saw. The PBA site had some negative comments but thats only because he took somebodies check. I hope his father handles him carefully. He's a bowling prodigy.
