The Defiant
I had my ball drilled with the pin down below the fingers. (25 X 4 ½ X 70 ). We added a weight hole below the PAP on the VAL.
This provided me with a strong midlane roll and a very effective continuous, backend! I was able to play 3-4 boards left of where I would normally play with the Critical Theory. One noticeable difference with this ball is the way it takes out the corner pins. Some of my in-between hits that would normally result in a weak 10 pin are being tripped off. This gives me the hooking power and reaction I need on the longer oil patterns.
The Microbite technology coverstock gives me the look and the down lane reaction I am looking for. With this cover I don’t have to worry about the lanes getting burned up. This ball gets through the head and maintains its power all night long. What a great addition to my arsenal.

I was going to do a review on the Roto Grip Defiant when I saw Mike Johnston's review and he wrote exactly what I was going to write. The only difference is my layout is 4 x 4 x 1 with a 3/4" weight hole 1" below the PAP.
The Defiant carries the corners as well as if not better than any ball I have ever owned. It has the strongest surface I've seen since the Epic line and is very strong on the back end similar to the way a particle ball would. This ball really digs in on the backend of the lane and doesn't deflect much. It turns the corner smoothly and consistantly. A must for bowlers who like long strings of strikes.
