i like bowling both to tell you the truth. Theo and his staff run a good tournament just wish they would have a stricter dress code.

I agree with you on the dress code. Any organization that has a
Membership fee should have those rules in place. I lean more toward
The 1 in 3 checks and love to travel. I do like the real bowlers
Tournament. Would like to see the entry fee around 100.00 but the
Format is great. I also go to more regionals because they have senior
Checks.

I am not a PBA member so I am really not supposed to respond to this. :) But something to look forward to this season on the RBTour is a $100 entry for members and a guaranteed 1:4 payout ratio. Just a sneak peak into what's in store for this season.

I used to enjoy the travel aspect of bowling as well, of course I was single and young then so I would have done almost anything to be on the road. PBA tourneys are ok, I have some issues with the pay scale they use, 1st place should have been $4,000 min. a long time ago but who am I to say? Cashing 1-3 is a little weak as well, takes away from the guy who busts his butt, just misses out and finishes 17th and gets same money as the guy who just snuck in last spot Saturday and has no shot Sunday of top 16...finishes 38th and gets the same $400. Ratio imo should be 1-4, or 1-5 and all cashers still go to bowl Sunday. Put the extra money in the top 4 spots, rediculous that with 100 entries, 3rd/4th still gets sometimes as little as $750....after a weekend of expenses, maybe you profit $2-300 to finish 3rd/4th??
Anyhow, with that said I like bowling all tournaments regardless of where they are, Atlanta is a decent drive for me(2 hrs.), yet I like the way the RBT is run so it makes it an easier decision to come and bowl knowing there is no BS with the way things will go down, the format doesn't get changed in the middle, the side action will be paid before my bedtime, and that it's going to be a fair shot for everyone.
I like the $100 entry fee Theo was talking about, that in itself may help entries grow some possibly, as well as the 1-4 ratio. Hopefully I can get down there a few more times this year to bowl.
