Okay, I know a lot of bowlers from the Real Money mixed league come on here to look at the standings. I want to hear from you and find out which teams do you feel everyone need to look out for in this league. I feel this will be one of the most competitive leagues in the city (Correct me if I am wrong). Tell me who do you think will end up on top or have a chance to end up on top in this league? Don't be scared to speak up for your own team.

Interesting conversation. Sooo, where and how did everyone end up :) Who was right? lol

Yeah, I am stirring up the pot again. What's the deal with the second half?
I know I was right because as I stated "just because teams have the better average bowlers does not make them the better teams". For example:
My team after my brother was injured, has had the second highest team average in the league for first half and came in 10th place.
Charles team bowled their tale off! Barry bowled great. Michelle averaged almost 200 for the 1st 6 weeks! They deserved to win.
Mr. Taylor contrary to your belief your team finished 2nd Place, 2 places higher than Gregs and Isom, and you had to give them 50 pins :) Good team bowling!

The top 10 teams finishing averages for the first half were, in this order:
1st Team 27 = 842
2nd Team 23 = 804
3rd Team 13 = 813
4th Team 25 = 811
5th Team 26 = 791
6th Team 8 = 821
7th Team 18 = 806
8th Team 15 = 736
9th Team 24 = 718
10th Team 4 = 835

Let me start off by saying that I love the level of competition that this league provides. Second, I think that my team (Comin at Cha) has a good shot at coming out on top, even though we did not do as good as I expected us to the first half of the season. I wasn't throwing the ball all that good the first half but I am getting comfortable now, so yall betta watch out.
The same teams will finish up top with team 22 getting in the mix due to the addition of Tesa Dyson (not taking anything away from Ron Johnson). Eight of the top ten teams average 790 or better, and the top 7 teams are all over 790.
I would like to congratulate Team 27 "Lock it up" and thank them for bowling hard the last week even though they had nothing to gain or lose. I would suggest that if a team has clinched first place they bowl the last place team on position nights at the end of the season but I won't because I don't want to make the only 200 average lefthander without a 700 mad.
hay theo there is never a perfect leauge everyone always has a reason why they hate a leauge mostly the teams in tha middle or below complain about handicap too much or not enough for the high avg bowlers,
a scratch leauge would be great if we can have such a leauge.
I think big money leauges should add more volume of oil to make sure you need alittle more accuracy to win and that would make it alot more competitve and mix up the leader board but this would be another argument of the shot beign too hard. either way its a never ending argument.
I am not going to make any predictions about what teams will finish in what place, mine included. I will however make a case for my team to be in the mix for the second half. I've been out with a arm injury and will be back bowling with my team next week......my team has great chemistry, with that said, with every thing starting over look for The REAL DEAL to make a run at it.
I think this is a great league there are powerhouse teams but thats not a lock to say that this team will win in this league on any given night you can lose with this new half there are some changes that have occured, there are some power shifting moves that have been made its not just My team or Greg's team or Locketts team we do have some great teams but with the instant offense of Tesa on Nina's team changes things both of them are Champions and with Jack Jackson throwing the ball like he has that team is very dangerous. This league looks like it could be as big or bigger than any league in Atlanta thanks to the Mcnair Brothers who do a great job with anything that there hands touch. Who knows maybe it will become so popular that there's a waiting list anythings possible. But also I have to address something there is no disrespect in where im coming from this is to Mr. Jack Taylor, I have no ill feelings towards you I have known you for about a year or more now but this is the second time you have disrepected Mr. Ken Taylor thats two to many we can agree and disagree with eachother but there are certain words that are not needed to get your point across Mr. Ken Taylor has done alot in his career one of the few who has won the High Rollers, tons of 300's and 800's respected by alot of the PBA bowlers on tour now why because of the resume he has and the respect he gives to everybody Iam just bringing this to your attention to get respect u need to give it certain words in certain ways are not needed to prove your point we can agree to disagree in a respect manner especially to legends like Mr.Ken, Ike Reese,Eddie Allen, Elwood, Billy Oatman, and Ron Evans, guys who have paved the way for all of us just to name a few.
This might be no concern of mine but as a bowler the issues yall have are going on every where. We have the same issues in greenville. Currently one of our biggest leagues is a handicap league that is 90% of 230, and ironically no one averages 230 so everyone gets pins. Not saying no one can but we have issues stopping us, like lane conditions vary from week to week being the biggest and most common. There are a few leagues however that we run that are handicap that make it fair for 90% of the league. One of the leagues that does it has probably been going for almost twenty five years. The handicap is 90% of the difference of the two teams average with a cap on the teams entering average, the cap was 1000 for 5 man team but was just this past year raised to 1025. Its the mens travel league or TCBA. We bowl every other sunday at different centers. We bowl in greenville, spartanburg, anderson, augusta, ashville, forest city, and this year we stopped in marietta. NO one complains about the handicap because we know its fair across the board. Another league we ran was a league based on peterson points. The teams were capped again, at 1050( 5 man teams ). Once you established an average you used your current average. The way it worked was it was basically bowler versus bowler with handicap, meaning the lead off bowlers for each team against each other the 2nd bowlers vs each other and so on but with a twist which ever of the 2 teams bowling was higher in the standings put their line up in first and the lower team put their guys in and could put their guys in any order they wanted to give them what ever individual matchup they wanted. We bowled for individual points and team points all going towards our team total. You got 1 point for every individual game and your normal 2 pts for the team game. It made things intersting.
To touch another topic, Jack Taylor what can i say. First off i dont want you to get the wrong idea or wrong message you are a nice guy, good bowler especially since you learned how to slow your ball speed down, but you always find a way to irritate someone and disrespect people. Ya know congratulations on winning your regional but that doesnt give you the right to start disrespecting other bowlers for no reason. Im gonna take it as you are fairly new to the atlanta area, meaning you have only been there a few years, and you have no idea who Ken Taylor is or what he has done. I have watched him bowl many times and have heard stories about him. He has forgotten more about bowling than you will ever know or accomplish. Like Charles said there is no need to say some of the things you do to get a point across. I have known you since we bowled juniors and you lived in wilmington and you were a semi cocky punk then disrespecting other bowlers for really no apperant reason, and now look at you, years down the road one regional win, several non cashing events, acouple small tournament wins and nothing has changed. Im gonna tell you something you should really listen to if you dont start showing others respect it will come back to haunt you trust me, im speaking from alittle of first hand experience. Take this however you want but it is advise take it how you like.
Alright, alright, alright! Why are you guys rehashing a statement that was made over 3 months ago. In my teammates (Jack) defense, he was defending the league. Mr. Taylor stated how ludacris the handicap for the league was, and Jack was defending the league.
I never said the league or the handicap was perfect, I was only stating the fact that there were a lot of competitive teams and wanted know who everyone felt would be on top.
So, this topic was never meant to get into name calling and people bashing. I wanted to know before the dust settled who did everyone feel was going to win the league.
Let's try and have positive debate or conversation without name calling or calling out individuals. (That goes for Jack or anyone else)
Look at todays quote of the day!

I will see everyone fired up tomorrow night. ;)

Theo

PS I still feel like my team will be at the top this second half :)
Theo you are right. What did you think about the leagues i mentioned? They work for us here to minimize the complaining/discussion on league handicap,

Ok Theo, I never comment on these things but this topic hit a nerve. How all of a sudden u defending Jack on his comment now after the s*** hits the fan. This isn't his first disrepectful remark towards Mr. Taylor (from Jack) and it want be the last, why, cause he is a "GAM". So quit defending a GAM and trying to clean up his miss that he starts, because to be truthful about the situation, Charles and Nick are a 100% correct. And your co-out to say that he is defending the league, so u telling me this web site isn't for your league ballers to voice their opinion. YES or NO. and to me thats all Mr. Taylor was doing. Now his opinion u may or maynot agree with but u will respect him.
"Alright, alright, alright! Why are you guys rehashing a statement that was made over 3 months ago. In my teammates (Jack) defense, he was defending the league." My thing is, how are u asking why this is rehashing when it is still located as a blog on the cite. If u knew cetain statements were said u should have deleted this blog all together.
Honestly i think Theo was just being a moderator for the website. Just trying to keep the peace on his page, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. All i know is yall got some serious scores being shot in atl right now.
